I suffered a million deaths
In a series of fits and starts
Reborn anew each time,
A sum of random parts

Embraced, I now confess
Every variance in minute detail,
And each one a heavy stone
In the walls of my own jail

No comfort found in knowledge,
Wisdom offers only contempt
For I cannot recall
When from these deaths I was exempt

Paid a price with each rebirth
Of myself too much exacted
Lost even traces of reminders
As the rules are enacted

Want to talk to my former self
The prototype incarnation
Perhaps blend the best of all parts
If given to that inclination

Or simply remember once again
As I sit in silent awe
How even the best parts of me
Became my fatal flaws

Maddening, how change can be,
How much in constancy we depend
And how fruitless are our labors,
Chasing nothing in the end

I can really identify with this piece.Alas, the only constant is indeed change.

Magician
There in no alternative. A literate piece of work, enjoyed.

Dang!  This is so well done!
You leave much for the reader to ponder Magician.
I enjoy that in a write...This is excellent.
Into my library it goes...

(big hugggssssss) Oh Magician, it is so very true, we change too fast and I just wish we could all just stop and enjoy what we cherished for so long! (sigh) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Magician, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Okay. Second poem, and I'm a fan. You have me wrapped. I love it.

A weaver of magic threads that make up a whole, a tapestry then read of feelings we all can wrap around ourselves then softly say, "Ah yes, I know this too". Wonderfully done dear magician.
