Black rose deceiving me
With fingers that can only feel its texture
Within the images deep within the mind
Thorns that bleed in the void of darkness

Yellow rose of dawn
Giving me the warmth of promise
In the freshness of such renewal
Thorns that bleed within your destiny

Pink rose of sweet innocence
Dancing on winds of free spirits
Youthful exuberance uninhibited
Thorns that quickly heal

Red rose of your charm
Loving memories in everlasting thoughts
Caresses of intermingling needs
Thorns of an everlasting relationship

White rose of purity
Trusting words without hate
Seeking the whispers of humanities soul
Thorns that have cried in the needs of others

Black rose seeing the light
The maturity to withstand abuse
To stand proud in its own shadow
Thorns that protect its own identity

Black rose deceiving me
What color are you tonight
In the darkest part of my mind

a fine interpretation of colors, vivid imaging

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I really like this poem. It's very descriptive. And it's about "roses". What more could you ask for?

You've made the roses' thorns
such a part of this, as is life...
well done, Sir
