drone
drone
drone the dulcimer
drone the possible
drone a joining of melody gossamer
droning a patter a clap at the dance
you drone in a circle and drone in a trance

and pound the floor
pound the beams
pound the earth until it seems
the pounding will waken the people that sleep
you pound for the soul and pound for the heat

and dance the dulcimer
dance the dreams
dance the twirling of spherical glee
the dancing of life is a pleasure to be
we dance on a fire and dance in the sea

the rhythm is ancient
the rhythm is free
you don't need to move
and you don't need to see
the rhythm is bigger than you and than me
to hear it
just listen to
simplicity

I never aimed at reality; I aimed at truth. --Orson Welles

Oh I simply love this. The rhythm, the message, the words. Everything. A great write and an enjoyable read.

A jig yesay? Indeed, it was.

This had the music in it, it did!

Shakin' the dust from the rafters it does!

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

Indeed this has music, bri...

I tapped my foot in want of dance as I read.

Very rhythmic, and downright witchily chant-like--I could even "picture" the sound of "rain" between verses...

ABSOLUTELY ENCHANTING!

(and btw? I read this a few hundred times... )

I love the spin and twirl of words, and found myself tapping my feet in rhythm!

Reminds of those spim-spabular, rim-tim-tabular bells in one of Poe's more sing-songy
flights.

mike,
I couldn't carry Edgar's jockstrap,
but, I appreciate the comp.
and I liked the way you flung those words against the wall
poem?

Nice one here Bri

I like the flow and the lyrical quality of it.

i was singing the meter,
repeating your rhythm
rhymed.
your verse is aligned
with music,
wooing me
in a trance along
each line....
and so i dance
your song
in time!

Can't write a reply right now! I'm still rockin'and rollin' and groovin' and movin' and loosing myself in you---I mean, your writing!
