My poetic milestones have a way of reminding me of my inspiration to write.  This 15,000th post is no exception.  My greatest and dearest inspiration, surely deserves (at least) one more poem from me.  I pondered over your most recent creation, Ron - and thought about your own inspiration (your mom and your newly planted willows and lilacs) - It must have found its way here by osmosis...  This milestone's for you, Ron...

Meandering long country paths aside,
Lush fragrance hallows summer's sweet ascent.
Festoons of lilacs breathe of heaven's scent
Midst fingered breadth of weeping willows bide.
Unfettered fronds enchant a flowered tide
Like choirs of angels boughing in descent,
In harmonies with primrose breeze content
To stave travails duress has oft decried.

Securely held within maternal arms,
In tiers the willow only seems to weep.
Embraced as swaddling babe in rhythmic sway
Bouquets of lilac meld to willow's charms.
Once nestled in her heart's protective keep
Remembrances for fragrant winter's day.

A pleasure to call you friend o'mine

Okay.......we all know that I love imagery and of course sonnets being one of my recent lessons bring new life to construction for me as well and this piece of yours encompasses so much more than those two simple pleasures.

Now while I loved the entire work, those lines especially bring a whirl of thought to me.  Excellent read and write and many many congrats to you on your milestone.

A beautiful sonnet, Nan.
I have planted a willow only last year and watch it's slow growth, waiting for it to  bow to the earth.

And my lilacs scent the spring for me...
gardens hold such inspiration.

Congratulations on the 15,000th.

I know I'm a "sicko"....and there is no treatment for it...but I still liked your poem?....

A bird sat in the top of my willow tree,
Singing at the top of his voice,
As I walked under him he crapped on me,
At that I didn't rejoice.

I looked out the window and happened to see,
A dog cock his leg by my willow tree,
At wetting the tree, he was quite adept,
And that is why me and the willow wept.

And so what's your point LOL, it took me 10 minutes to do mine, and days to do yours, are you saying quality is important?  You sure are and this is the best example of who and what you are and stand for my friend.  This sonnet is perfect, and filled with so much deep emotion and thought, that it made me realize just how very lucky I am to call you my friend.  For you to take the time to write something this perfect for someone so special, says all I need to know to say you indeed special Nan, and this works of course is only one other thing that proves it.

I am so proud of you, and proud to call you a friend, this was A+

Congratulations on your 15,000th post and you could not have dedicated it to anyone who deserved it more.
