Seasons
By Paul Wilson

The seasons are changing fast
Gone are the flowers we planted in May
How we wish they could stay
This season called summer we knew wouldn’t last

Blue skies turn a dark shade of gray
As leaves turn red, orange and yellow
A slight chill in the air can be felt at night
This season called fall we wish it could stay

Days are getting shorter the feel of winter is in the air
As smoke rises from chimneys
Old man winter will soon be here
This season called winter no other can compare

Today I thought I heard a robin sing
Flowers begin to bloom as skies turn blue once again
Another season is starting
How we love this season called spring

Which one is the best?
Which would you suggest?
How can we choose one over the rest
To have four seasons we are truly blessed

Each season is so unique and has it's own qualities Paul.  It's hard to pick a favorite but I can really do without the extreme temperatures we have some time in the summer and winter.  I love the seasons, just not the temps!!  Well done.

Hi Paul, well after the heat wave we have been enduring, I am going to go ahead and choose autumn as my favorite!
This is nice, thanks

Paul ~~ Summer has always been my absolute favorite, until this year. The heat of this one is driving me right to Fall.

However, winter, I detest.

Great writing, great poem.

CSKpoet...Thanks for the kind words.
I always heard Hawaii was like paradise with it's beautiful flowers and sites... Paul

passing shadow... Looks like you picked out my two favorite seasons, Spring & Fall.
Thanks for your reply... Paul

Donna... I understand your sentiments exactly
The heat and humidity here in South Louisiana
is unbearable. Thanks for reading...Paul

Catalinamoon...Thank You for your reply.
I believe we all are ready for some cool fall nights when we can sit outside and gaze at the stars and moon... Paul

Marti...Thank You for reading and replying.
I can see why you hate Winter, being in all that snow day after day has got to be hard. I always say snow is nice for a day or two then it's a pain in the rear. I hope your winter isn't to bad this year...Paul

Seymore... Thank you sir for your kind reply.
It sounds like to me you might have the making of a poem about the comparison of our seasons to the seasons of our life... Paul

(smiles) Yes, and while spring is my favorite season because of all the flowers blooming and life renewing again, it is all a beautiful cycle as every season has its special beauties and treasures! (big hugggssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Paul, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I love the changing seasons. Can't say as I have a favorite. Though I find the calm of Autumn and Winter to be the most soothing. A great write Paul. Enjoyed very much.

A wonderful write, Paul...
I agree with Sy...
Any season that I am still here for, is my favorite...
but I have always loved autumn the best...
thats when its easiest to find acorns.
