Fur Elise

Night grows
Steadily
Beating back
Day’s star

Weary weight
Wrapping all
In twilight’s
Violets

Calling forth

It’s wind
And silent
Sweep
Of rain

In measured meter
Tapping hopeful
Refrain within
Melancholy

Weaving
Melody
Into purpling
Greys

Then black temper’s fury
Flares, blares, brief deluge

Tempers
Tapers
To lilting
End

~wranx

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

Ed,
you have CAPTURED
this
poem in music
with
music in poem

as he glares down at me
from my wall
I say to him
"200 years later
you are STILL influencing
the masses"
oh,
that's right
He's deaf
damn Good One, ED

Methinks you are a renaissance man.
---Commentaries on art and now Beethoven! As I've said before, there's more to you than meets the reader's eye!

Loved this piece---it's a classic!

This is incredible!!
As I read down the page...
I actually sang these words to the melody of Fur Elise in my mind...and you know...
they seemed to fit...
Now I shall have this hauntingly beautiful melody in my mind all day...
Thank you!

Excellent view of an emerging storm!  I liked all of it, but especially the following image:

Weaving
                    Melody
                    Into purpling
                    Greys

exhilirating

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I can play that one on the piano.
But not nearly as well
as you can write it.

As though I watched you as you listened--and read your mind.

How this brings back to many memories,
one of the first pieces I learned
of the classics, and my mother's
hand on my back, "straight! straight! curve the fingers, count, count!"

Oh yes...many many memories...
