there are no words
to express
the feelings today
no words left
I am bereft
nothing to say

we are changed
some for better
some for worse
I find no words
to write
in memory verse

dust and rubble
images burned
in every eye
though fear lingers
patriotism
runs high

hand over heart
head bowed
in abject prayer
questions remain
how can this be?
how is this fair?

and we are left
with no words
to write
no psalms or odes
in the dark
September night

tomorrow is
a mystery
no longer a promise
so we must take
love where
it finds us
**

In memory of those who died on September 11, 2001 and in honor of those who lost loved ones on that day and during the days since. May we hold them in our hearts forever and live our lives with pride and love. Never forget 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you'

seek love not revenge.

This is what lots of people are feeling tonight. Thank you for writing it. I hope that history isn't going to repeat itself. I think that every American is wondering just exactly what tomorrow will bring. As you put it, "tomorrow is a mystery, no longer a promise". Words VERY well written.

"Seek love not revenge."

True words today, and every day.

Thank you.

You penned what is in every American heart, and is shared by our friends around the world. Hands are being held out to help us back onto our feet...there is still love to be found and it far overpowers revenge. I enjoyed the message from this poem...thank you...

Sharon this was so beautifully put. I dreaded today but had no idea how hard it was really gonna be till I pulled up to my lil girls school and saw them getting ready for their tribute. Reading this reminded me of how drained I feel emotionally.

(tears fall down my cheeks) God Bless You, sweet friend, there are no words to describe exactly how I feel about this so I just write whatever comes to my mind and even if it sounds strange I know its honest and true! (big hugggssssss) May we all reach out to the victims families and strive for love and not vengeance, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
