Days of Summer

I remember those crazy days of summer
back when I was a young man of twenty one.
Me and my girlfriend took a day trip to
Catalina Island just to have a little fun.
And we did have lots of fun.
An island tour on bicycles
and a day of soaking up the sun.
We shared many wonderful hours together
in enjoyment of each others company.
We kept reminding ourselves the last plane
flew back at about a quarter after three.
And than the thought entertained us
"Hey why don't we spend the night."
We could take a stroll and take the time
to share a kiss under a romantic moonlight.
Only one small problem would arise.
Her Mom had been very specific that she
didn't want us to spend the night.
Yes she had made it clear to us
that she expected us back in Long Beach
no later than the last flight.
Unfortunately we had to call her for
somehow we had missed that flight.
Sorry Mom, we couldn't help it and now
it looks like we have to spend the night.
Her Mom practically threw a fit because
she didn't want us to get to close to soon.
Before the phone call was over she made
us promise to get separate rooms.
Well we honestly tried but it seems
that there was only one room left
and only on bed in that one room
so you can imagine the rest.

well-written prose about tough times

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

HAHA, and one of you didn't curl up on the floor, did you?
Enjoyed this. And I remember Catalina Island, and cruising around on bikes and the glass bottom boat to view the water wonders.
Thanks for a pleasant trip, James.
Not to mention the grin.

Perhaps this piece of prose should be entitled "Dear Diary"!  For me, it was like taking a sneak peak at someone's personal journal---which I would never do. But you gave me permission with yours---and I enjoyed the read!

(big hugggssssss) Oh James, you are never alone, I think we all go through moments like these every once in a while! I have been to Catalina Island, I LOVE IT THERE!!! It is really beautiful down by Descadona Beach where you can drink smoothies and then the countryside up to the ranch where the Arabic horsemen and buffalo roam are breathtaking! (smiles) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet James, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
