I am a savannah tree
Distilling sunlight
In the midst of dreams,
In which no tears fall to
Ease the ache.

Branches reach up
As though in surrender,
Summoning the storm’s drench
to make peace with the
drained inside.

Dreams overflow;
Of puddles are harmony
Reflected.
Water’s melody is this
Earth’s joyful muse.

This swaying makes peace
With the rhythm of growth.
Cycles are me
And it shows.
I rise, it rains.

Drought’s dreaming;
Burning fills the
Silence.

Earth laughs in flowers.

For certain, anything with "tree" in the title will draw me in---and I wasn't disappointed.

Liked this much. Your "Savannah tree" is a beauty.
