The Final Curtain Falls  (text of masks challenge)

Every day I see the faces
of actors upon a stage
daily routines enacted

Act One
day begins
hidden among false pretenses
of love endured
for the benefit
of the world to see

hidden under this text of masks

Act Two
unfolding
new faces added
the players have changed
the make up    darkened
to hide their faces of shame
from the innocence of childhood

Act Three
the stage
of nightime now set
bright lights
smoke filled rooms
in corners hidden
whats not seen
will not hurt
on a night
of no regrets

once to often
one           to many
swerves
down curves
the lights fade

the final curtain falls.

If I have touched one heart through my words, then I have acheived my dream...

... and the audience applauds
Well done!

Gentle Spirit,
Amazing job. I will think
of the masks of tragedy
and comedy
in a new light.

I have seen some exceptional work to this mind twisting "text of masks" that can be taken oh so many ways....

this being one of them!

Brava, Donna...well done!
