(This is an unusual poem I wrote while thinking of all the grief in the world today and how still one thing keeps me going; the beauty of love and how no more to me need to be created but this special otherside that exists when all we need is love! Kind of my rebellious, playful side! )

Don't Create
By: Noah Eaton
9/5/02

All I want to live to see today
Are your countryside, your tropical paradise
All I wish for everyday
Is to live in your pastoral hearty otherside

Thousands of dogs starving in the alleys
Do people really call this democracy?
Children marching like ants, hoisting soles of labor
Carrying Nike and corporations to toadstools they call timocracy
Jesters flooding the gardens like locusts
Chewing all the fat of the rations
And here I am listening to this all
It's none of my business...

All I want to live to see today
Are your countryside, your tropical paradise
All I wish for everyday
Is to live in your pastoral hearty otherside

These hands that built these temples
These feet that have climbed the chapels
Will have nothing to do
With this foreign bureaucracy

Wolf packs tearing at the "just" in justice
Like Assyrians in phalanx formations
Lying in our graves, digging for diamonds
Stolen from our forefathers, stripped of their gauntlets
The population grows and there's a new argument forming every five seconds
Don't make this worse than it already is
Don't create, I beseech you...
As I stand and strum this bleeding guitar

All I want to live to see today
Are your countryside, your tropical paradise
All I wish for everyday
Is to live in your pastoral hearty otherside

These ears that've heard like a dolphin
This voice that bellows like a lion
Will have nothing to do
With this foreign bureaucracy...

I don't relate to tarot readings
I don't believe to Karl Marx
Ben Jonson says "It is not growing like a tree!"
Where do these roots tear down at the bark?

You are my auguries of innocence
You are my melting pot of everything pleasant
The papparazzi that watches my every move
My Dome of the Rock, how I got back my groove
A flag to my nation
A train at every station
My parchent, my recitation
It's impossible to explain it...

All I want to live to see today
Are your countryside, your tropical paradise
All I wish for everyday
Is to live in your pastoral hearty otherside

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Wow. Sing it out loud and clear, so that many will hear..

"Thousands of dogs starving in the alleys
Do people really call this democracy?
Children marching like ants, hoisting soles of labor
Carrying Nike and corporations to toadstools they call timocracy
Jesters flooding the gardens like locusts
Chewing all the fat of the rations
And here I am listening to this all
It's none of my business..."
But thank goodness YOU DO make it your business, Noah. I enjoyed reading this 'otherside' of the Mistletoe Angel, your 'playful' side...your biting, gutwrenchingly honest social commentary.

Agree with Midnitesun:

your 'playful' side...your biting, gutwrenchingly honest social commentary.

especially his last line's summation of this piece

well done, Noah!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Noah:
This was topic larger than the world itself condensed in a lengend and expressed in a teardrop. Good thoughts. ThisDiamond
