It is softness of light
that from morning shine drapes
across your bare legs as you lie
tangled in sheets that like a toga
cover your nakedness
but with a shrug you could slide aside
to reveal more
should the mood strike you
or the softness draped on your legs
become warm enough
to light the fires in your center

I would touch you
but the disturbance might indeed
shatter the brittle moment
so transparent that I can feel you breathe
as chest rises and falls
though I am standing here
beside your bed
not lying in it
as I wish

It is the softness
I long for

Sometimes morning can be heartbreaking and still so tender. Beautifully written! Good to see you posting..you've been missed!

Cpat,

A happy moment,
tinged with reflection
and the fact of its own
ephemerality.

Awesome!

"tangled in sheets that like a toga"

clicking my sandals together three times:

There's no place like Rome..."

sigh...still not THERE.

This is like rain after a drought, Ron.

Thank you.

As I read on, I almost stopped breathing!---literally!

Phenomenally sensitive and loving--and somewhat wistful.

Morning light drapes me,
and I dream of being entangled
in your soft thoughts.
