O silent star that swarms the sky
leant to one side, debating why,
the breath of day pass over she?
to sail upon an emerald sea;
The stains of salt that streak her mast
dulled from the sun and fading fast-
stage scarves of  chiffon, sucking air
that masquerade without a care.

O wretched day! That greets the morrow
would thee lend me a dream to borrow?
To steer my eye on swells of foam
& drift me on the route to home;
Evoke bold shield of Gabriel!
& thrust me past the gates of hell.
The reapers shade draws closer now
I feel his kiss upon my brow.

Oh! I can sense the Ocean Queen
my soundless calling she hath seen,
her sweeping arms encircle me
I launch myself into her sea!
serenely sinking, blinking shame
the whispering waves have won this game.
Exhale me on a quietening shore,
for I shall sail, no more: no more.

This is so very sad, but DANG this is what I call poetry.  This is so very well crafted and executed.  Its what I call a gem for my box of jewels.  Thank you so much for such a wonderful morning read.  BRAVO

Indeed, if we could fling ourselves up into air and be done with our pain, but no, we have only the sea. Enjoyed.

I consider this the epitomy of poetic grace.
I love the beautiful references made to the sea.Consider me a hopeless romantic, but this is such a dreamy poem in my eyes.
