THE NEVER FORGOTTEN HERO’S OF SEPTEMBER 11
There are souls we still hear crying from the graves in which they lay
As the memory of a nightmare haunts and with us seems to stay
There are mothers, fathers, workers, old and young who suffered here
And though twelve months have onward passed, our thoughts still hold them near

This month a place we honour and your names we hold up high
Each day for you we say a prayer to ease the souls that cry
Our hearts feel for the families that have suffered in your grief
We hope a year and many friends has found them some relief

Be angels you the quiet who all left on silent wings
Be you all our blessings and each melody that sings
Be you our strength in weakness and our hope when things go wrong
Be you, who emboss freedom, in this world that we belong

You all are one of many who do make a country grand
The hero’s of a nation, which enrich with strength a land
The authors of the many words that fill our hearts with pride
The thought behind each action and our conscience deep inside

Our hero’s you are always, the ones which grant us zest
To strive each day for freedom and to make world peace a quest
Who now lay in our memories of a day when terror came
A day that through a lifetime, holds those pictures that remain

May peace be with you all as our love

“The never forgotten hero’s”

A very fine tribute, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

A very thoughtful, loving poem.  Well put.

We should also remember that "The hero’s of a nation" also stand for the hero's of many nations who died on September 11th, and also those from many nations who have served and will continue to serve to promote freedom and peace.

Thank you, Rick, for this very timely reminder.

How kind of you, Rick, to acknowledge our tragedy now, as you did a year ago.  I remember that you were one of the first to come forth with your condolences, and how much they meant to everyone here in the United States that read your kind words.  Once again, your heart is showing.  Thank you...

A very fine and fitting tribute to those who's lives ended on that horrific day and to all those who risk their lives to keep ours safe and free.....let us never forget or take for granted their sacrifice.
May they live on in our memories and rest in Peace.

Love, Light and Peace,

Sherry

Great tribute,

I think a few of us found the little american within us that day.
I felt the pain and shed the tears.
How I had wished I could have done something to help.
It wasn't just an american tragidy it was an assult on everything that is good and decent, a disgrace to mankind.

9-11 was a tragedy against humanity.  Freedom is not just for America, but for all people, everywhere. This is a fine tribute Rick, and I join you in a prayer of rememberance, and that the world may
coincide in peace and tranquil times.
Thank you Rick.
This verse is exceptional and
shows us the depth of your heart.

Rick, I still cry when I think of what happened and I believe all American's will be glad to have this month over with.

Our house is under one of the flight patterns for planes out of Logan Airport in Boston and till this day, I cringe when I hear a plane go over.

This was a beautiful tribute; thank you for your words.

Hugs, Marti

Beautiful, Rick. Thank you for your caring heart. I still cry when I think of all the broken hearted familes.
Peace
