A kind word, a gentle touch, To this weary soul, would mean so much. A respite from these restless days, To revive my spirit in loving ways. I soon shall shed this weight flesh, To rise up high as I transgress, This earthly plane to the one beyond, So filled with joy, and peace, and song. I yearn for inner serenity, An oasis from harsh reality, As my essence ebbs, I pray there's more Beyond this realm lies the Open Door Dare I pass through, and into the light And say farewell to my days of night?... The hands of time are suddenly still, With all my strength, with all my will, I turn them back, now night is day I cannot go, I now must stay. The beacons of light that guided me, Were the loving faces, of my family, They led me back to hearth and home, In their warm embrace, my fears have gone. Their tender words, their loving touch, To this reborn soul, has meant so much, Forever gone are those night-filled days, As I bask in the light of their caring ways.
