LOOKING THROUGH THE YEARS

I look at you- a path well worn,
A stubborn nature- since you were born,
A past that brings out my deepest fears,
Remembering all the pain through the years,
~That only you could soothe~

I look at myself, immaturity dwells,
Still deep inside a silent hell,
~Everytime you cry~
I wish for the laughter in your eyes,
Filled with little girl promise,
And sweet surprise,
But were not children anymore.

Looking into our past, I clung to you,
Because you were my stability,
I was the ignorance that you missed,
So in turn you cherished me,
A bond forever, never broken.

Looking at you now, so calm inside yourself,
Only I know the things you've felt,
(That broke our hearts a thousand times)
Growing- to learn that promises-
Become well kept lies,
~But no ones making promises anymore~

Looking at the future, staring silently,
I'm still not perfect, but you love me,
You're still not rich- but to my heart,
Which was expected from the start.
No falling expectations in each other.

Looking back at this world,
Long after my days,
Remembering little girls,
Playing silent games,
But all the games are over.

Growing together intertwined,
Often "love" has left us blind,
But seeing never meant believing,
On each other forever leaning,
When there was no right path to choose.

Finding in each other,
Too many pasts and realities,
That have both been lived too many times,
Still our hearts claim to be fine,
Because they're not allowed to break again.

Crying to you, in nights unsure,
When I didn't know either of us anymore,
I longed for the fairytales,
But happy endings were found nowhere,
Because make-believe was never real.

I find you now,
Still in my life,
But different somehow,
Just remember I'll always love you.

LOVE ALWAYS AND FOREVER,
YOUR BABY SISTER.          7-15-98

(some hard years for us huh tanny??)

It's great that you two are so close.
I am in the process of writing such a piece for all of my sisters (four).

Wonderfully done
