No Cake No Ice Cream

Well it was my birthday again.
I'm not gonna say how old I am.
Let me claim Jack Benny one more time.
Wasn't he always thirty nine
even though he had that thirty ninth
birthday about fifteen or twenty times?
Anyway on my special birthday my girlfriend
shared some warm moments of love with me.
We went for dinner and a walk down in Waikiki.
Sad to say once a year a birthday is the price you have
to pay to live on this planet for another day.
And now that my birthday with no cake and no ice cream
is over I suppose that I do feel a bit older.

Happy Birthday James,
You didn't need the ice cream or cake and it reads like you had a pretty good time. Nice write.

Happy Birthday James...
You don't need cake and ice cream to have a happy birthday...all you need is the presence of the one you love, and it sounds like you had that.

I couldn't have cake and ice cream on my birthday, back in April, because I was undergoing radiation treatments and everything made me sick.  We had a whole big party here and I had to sit and watch everyone else eat it, but David put a piece of cake and the rest of the ice cream in the freezer for me....but by the time I could eat them, they tasted awful.

My best celebration actually occurred on Monday in an operating room...of all places.
Heres the link to the poem in which I wrote all about it.
She Couldn't Find It !!!
I hope you enjoy it.

Especially with no cake and no ice cream!

I like your verse, though, it's light even if it's heavy.

Happy Birthday!  Waikiki...that'll suffice for cake and ice cream, me thinks...that's what being an adult must mean. Nope...I've never gotten Hawaii for my birthday. I may have had fresh pineapple, though, does that count?

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

YAY!!! Happy Birthday, sweet friend, ice cream and cake is tempting indeed, but what makes a birthday truly special is being surrounded by your loved ones, and I am so very happy you've had a wonderful time! (big hugggssssss) Now blow out all your candles and make a wish! YAY!!! (smiles) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet James, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
