Me and my grandfather
sat by the sea.
We hunted for agates.
He as did me.

But Long as we searhed,
thousands of hours.
It was grandfather
who had those
agate hunting powers.

I would sit there
and marvel
at his wonderous tales.
Of ships and of Dragons
Indians and whales.

All of the while
we'd laugh and we'd
smile.
Watching for agates
to role from the pile,
of stones that he'd
mound
up all around.
Until one agate
was finally found.

He told me one day
as he would in his way,
with a smile and a
wink of the eye.
How all of the agates
were gifts from above
to remind us of peace.
To remember true love.

And as rare as that is.
When we walk just about,
if we stop and we look
some will fall out.

The keys' in the
stopping.
The time for the search
a moment to share.
In touch with the earth.

hi woodtic.
very nice...one of those feel good poems

just one critic...think you should do something with this....doesn't work in meter or to me in grammer.

All of the while
we'd laugh and we'd
smile.
Watching for agates
to role from the pile,
of stones that he'd
mound
up all around.
Until one agate
was finally found.

This is what I'm having trouble fitting in.

to role from the pile,
of stones that he'd
mound
Just a suggestion otherwise very simplistic and wholesome.

(smiles) Oh my gosh, this is sooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, I love agates and I too have heard of the tales they bear as I also have a small collection of polished agate windows! (sigh) May you and your grandfather share many more happy memories together, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
