The View I know You saw me there With the other three Holding on to conversation As a lifeline Just to get through the night Laughing at jokes Sipping the libation cold Slipping thoughts to stranger moods For I Glanced over to the darker corner My mind saw you there Watching, lifting your drink is soft salute Soon Your thoughts loud Soon Once alone with time worn talent After a tirade of whys He found no answers in my silence Alone, Silk sheets swallowed me whole Dark thought fingers found me, Turned me around, smelled the tears Wrapped me warm in quiet And held on with life Pounding Knowing Quiet, your thoughts lulled me to sleep Woke me gently to a new day To smile upon the view These thoughts of you [This message has been edited by Elan (06-20-2002 11:20 AM).] |
