Emily, you have found what so many people
have searched for unsuccessfully --
the fountain of youth

and because you found it,
the world is
a little less vivacious
a little less talented
a little less sensitive
a little less intelligent

It's lacking in hugs
and piano sound
and happy-to-see-you smiles
and wicked little glances

I mean, the power of a personality that can
deeply affect someone only known for months
is a rare, special thing
but, that makes it all the more painful
to those whose lives fell into orbit
around yours.

Yes, you will always be 19 now.
So many people would envy that, I think.
But I am a selfish person
and I'd have rather
watched you age.

I never aimed at reality; I aimed at truth. --Orson Welles

Hey,
I like this line a lot:

"to those whose lives fell into orbit
around yours."

Cool beans!

I'm glad to have found this in the folds of Open 21, like a careworn blanket. Now all I need is some coffee and a mind like yours.

It's hard to respond to the death of this beautiful and talented woman-child, I will just grieve along with you.
If that's okay with you.

~Ed

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".
