Etching Promises

I’d like to bathe
in peppermint
beside the vibrant sea
and wash away
this malcontent
that rises over me,

to listen to
the whispered wind
as breezes cleanse the air
and prop my feet
upon the sand
beside a lounging chair,

to feel the sun
upon my face,
a gentle warming glow,
and take the hours
in slower pace
with tide’s sweet ebb and flow.

would you like
to join me, Dear,
in ribbons and in lace
etching promises
so clear
with ev’ry snug embrace

I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

This is beautiful. You created such a wonderful image here, and a warm cozy feel as well.

This piece reads beautifully.  The lines may be six in number but they read as 4 beautiful couplets laced together in an inviting verse.  Then of course we have ...

I’d like to bathe
in peppermint
beside the vibrant sea
====================

Now that is about as poetic a line as you can get with great visuals to boot.  Loved the entire piece immensely.

Virgina, you have some cool lines in this, I really enjoyed your verse, especially the 'bathe in peppermint' image.  You are fast growing as a poet and it's wonderful to see you in full bloom

Take care,
Melissa~
