wait
before you grab the child from the
  lowly swaying branches of the tree
why not
let him
watch as he discovers the rough
  bark
cling cuts
and tastes the bitter leaves
let him
as leans hard into the tree and steps
into it
climbing
simply allow him to stumble
from the tree
and fall to the brass beneath
or
peer at him as he pulls himself up
into the height of the tree
and peers down smiling
having conquered his small mountain
wait
before you grab that child
and ask yourself
why not let him experience
his life?
