There are views behind trees that are safer
than those of any conflict
menacing forest floors.

In the absence of the now
we are lost in past of cavaliers
out to protect their maiden's hunted choice..
a fox on the run,
a marmot on its dig to security.

We know of the chase
the victor is always up in arms
against lesser causes that nature presents..

The hunter glorifies the expedition
we remain lost in the foliage
consumed by a past of pomp and decadence.

With bodies present in a new century
the message stays the same...
whoever dares to fight the system
creates both the admirer and enemy.

There will never be an absence of cause
only a feeling of getting lost in the woods
of being snagged by the trees of life...

Sir,
Your poem is deep and thought provoking. What risks need to be taken, and how much of a benefit and enhancement can they be expected to become?  Something we can not easily resolve--but should seek to determine for ourselves.
You use of the trees & woods as imagry is interesting.

P.S. Thank you also for reading & replying to my poem. After looking at your profile and going to your homepage, I conmsider it quite an honor to be commented on by you!
