Regret

Like a pastel sunset,
the colours of time smear,
into a dark abyss,
of shallow memories.

A spiral of pain,
slithers down my spine,
clenching my last breathe,
whispered upon the cold sea.

Brown with flaccid fatigue,
those dreams felt like sand,
etched into ours hearts’,
as one single word.... "regret".
