Love’s Light In starlight’s soft and ethereal light Love comes calling on these silvered nights Under the new moon it’s clear to see Love whispering gently and softly And it’s during this perilous time That love softly murmurs all is fine Cede it commands yield your soul to me Lay down your arms yield your liberty But if I cede now where will I be? Will love join me in captivity? Or will the loneliness still my heart As soul and self are ripped all apart? But if love stays within my soul’s sight I can just bear the dark of heart’s night Only the thought that love will still stay Helps me prepare for another day But the lure of starlight is so strong I wonder can I resist its song So tempting to fall into love’s arms And cede my soul to its many charms Is the touch of love worth all of this? Or will I be betrayed by its soft kiss? I only know that it feels so right As it bathes my soul in its starlight Marsha Breathe through the heat of our desire |
