In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-06-12 08:09 PM

Here is where the road will end:

At nights I have waited
    with the wall shadows

Watching light slip, sink
      among trees
weaving through  fog
settling slowly into the sifts
   of earth

When the world is quiet
  I hear you      bending tones
among angels   where all words
   of hope lie

A sanctuary:
lips    meeting   faith
    kneeling among

  Broken stones,   forming
prayers of peace,  in hands
  tightly clamped together

Shoulders,  shrouded
in veils of white
   laced  in forms of fragile
breaths  inhaling  the rain,
   exhaling darkness
lifting  the spirit of doves

I have lived
inside the vision
   uncoiling all threads that
held the white satin dress

Releasing emotions    with
    soft reminders  of how
life is, how it can be--
  life, has  a new meaning

The sky will open
    spilling
sunrise and sunsets
  upon the dew of
brilliant grass and winding rivers,

no longer
my lost soul among the flowers

Here is where the path will start
it may have a few bumps
along the way   but it
leads to the journey home

   once again my heart anew
beginnings of a brand new day

Its been a long road
Getting from there to here
Ive known a wind so cold, seen the darkest days
but now the winds I feel are only winds of change

The mind....the final frontier....explored
only by the poet in the tender and beautiful
words of thought...

Beautiful Lauren...much!

Lauren, the way you weave your words,
the spacing   of them   lending thought
between the tight places

I can envision you at your desk
penning all of these in lovely longhand
before typing them out...

you are lovely,
as is your poetry...
bless you...

This is beautiful, Lauren...but I especially loved this passage

Here is where the path will start
it may have a few bumps
along the way   but it
leads to the journey home

It holds a lot of meaning for me, as my path has had many bumps so far.

thanks for sharing it with us.

~ hugs for the bumpy ride home

I know all too well how hard and long the journey to this place can be...I know how much must be let go of and how much healing must be had before such hope and peace will renew us....and so you already know I felt every single exquisitely perfect word of this.
thank you for that dear poetess L..
I needed to feel these things and be reminded.

Beautiful verse Lauren.  Touching write from
your oh so eloquent heart pen.  May the bumps in your journey be few dear girl. Hugs.

I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance~~(Garth)

I've always known that you hear that voice as well. . . and now, I have proof. . .

reading this, it's just like hearing you read it out loud. . . with all the spaces and gentleness that leap from the page. . . it's amazing. . .and makes me want to read more. . .

I love the metaphorical spirit of these lines........Defintely from the land of silence and tranquility!
Exceptional writing the entire piece!

Taking the road that ends and letting it lead you to the road that begins will always put you on the right path.  Excellent write and very good use of metaphors and verbage.  I enjoyed much as I always have your works.
