Ruminations

Youth basked my hours
in sultry summer savor
melting me in ice cream flavor
and dandelion shine

Adolescence masked my hours
in silkiness and lace
bringing me face to face
with questions, only mine

Adulthood tasked my hours
in the hurry up to wait
that queries may equate
through the hurriedness of time

Maturity now casks my hours
mellow is the flavor
left in summer’s savor
as the grape turns on the vine

How it is for each of us as we are born
into the world of trnquility....living
through all of the changes,  demands..
all of the moments that bombard us and
make us into that grape....just right for
the picking,  the savoring of a fine wine
properly aged...

That I might drink of finest wine
grown from a vine of purest stalk
To sip and savor what is but fine
and whisper softly our share of talk.

Kari hi there Thank goodness mum had Paul’s computer she could fall back on, I don’t know how she would have managed without it. Maybe now she will treat it a little better when it returns to her desk.

Wonderful writing I’m so glad I got the opportunity to reply to you, you are one of my favourite writers and I always enjoy your writing, and this is exceptional, full of such beauty and depth.

Love and warm stuff
As always

First, I would like to thank Gentle Spirit for bringing this back up...what a wonderful surprise it was to see so many sharing a few thoughts with me...

Magnus, one of the finest compliments I can think of is to find prose in return...thank you so much!

Mysteria, you can say anything you wish, anytime you want...may your voice never know the sound of silence...

Enchantress, to be deemed a Keeper is another one of the best compliments I can think of...thank you!

Kris, so, you've found the library key, have you?  Isn't that a tremendous little perk to Passions?  Thank you!

Martie, you write so many Keepers, it's hard to keep track of them all...thank you for the IW....

Sy?  That may be the first poem I've heard of that has "tanned someone's hide" ... Thank you, Sy....

Chills are fun in the summertime, aren't they, Lady C....thank you so much!

Tier, a magnificent from you is a day with sunshine!  Thank you!

Donna, two thank yous...the first for the kind remark, the second for bringing this back for sharing...you are too kind!

Thank you, Noah!

Krissy, for Christmas, I think Santa should bless all of Mushy's children with computers, what do you think?  Thank you, dear!

Bridget, your shortest comments make me smile!  I know what you're thinking!

Paul, the soul/sole purpose of writing is to make people enjoy what they read...thank you!

Mycafe, you're turning into a Keeper yourself!  Thank you!

Devina, a read from you has made my day!  Thank you!

Toe, my man, you do have a way with words...now that I have stopped blushing, I've come 'round to say, thanks for the read.  You take care of that suthern lady, y'hear?

suthern, that's me...always leaving messages...hopefully, always leaving the kind that lifts a spirit or two, y'know?  You take care of Toe now....

DS, just a little thoughtful party to help the summer not slip by so fast, you know? You know!  Thank you!
