Asphalt

Shimmers like large pools
Spread out before the racing car
Inviting but false

Beach sand

Hot as a griddle
People dancing gingerly
Beach towel oases

Fox fire

Silent glows in the clouds
Light up the summer sky
Theres no rain in sight

Shade

Canopy of leaves
Great oak unbrellas stand tall
Welcome you to shade

Iced tea

Sweaty tall pitchers
Ice tinkling in glasses
Ah! the first long drink

Sprinkler

Kids frolic on lawns
Scamper in the rainbow mist
One of lifes cheap joys

Excellent Bob!
You know how I love these 'theme' posts..
but these 'summer heat' ones are the best!

These are not only captivating, bringing smiles to my face, but darn, the memories and heat they evoke...

You did good, Sir...very good indeed...

but you knew that
