The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2002-06-30 01:43 PM

He spoke to me eloquently
he pulled me in with golden words
he wanted and he needed me
how pitifully I was lured.

He stole my heart so easily
I damn near gave it right away
Too late did I discern his truth
he never truly meant to stay.

He took the fullness of my heart
and threw the pieces to the ground
though stolen, now unwanted so
yet wrapped in lies, I remain bound.

Happens all the time. But that has nothing to do with the quailty of your write.

A very good but hurtful write.
Bet THAT don't happen again.
But, if you're like me, it probably will.

My heart was stolen, still it cries
The truth of words were only lies
I fell into the world of lust
Again I cry, whom can I trust?

To fill the empty space inside
Upon the crest of dreams we ride
To seek what makes our hearts all sing
We try what comes, what life does bring

I enjoyed the read Sandra, we all feel the way you do at times, chin up and keep searching, love hides maybe around the next corner. Goodluck.

Sincerely Rick

catalinamoon,

I have missed reading your poetry.  This is beautifully worded.. and very well expressed.  I hope your heart finds peace soon.

Those lies threaten to choke the very life from you, don't they? *S* But someone who lures with pretty words and then shows his ugliness with no care to consequences isn't worth another tear... when you can believe that with your heart as well as your mind, those bindings will loosen.

This is a sad but excellent write. *S*

disentangling yourself from those lines
we find them here, waiting to be seen
and wondering when our own will find
the heart. . .

well, you know what I mean. . .

So beautiful, and speaks so deeply of the love that's so elusive. I love your new picture...YOU are beautiful!!
