I send a dozen roses But don't tell you my name I left my pen to speak my words But was it all in vein? I chose the poem carefully One I thought you'd like It talked of stardust on my hands And a dream I had last night I wasn't there to see your face When you opened the card I simply couldn't take the chance You see, for me love's hard I always seem to screw it up I never trip, I fall So maybe it's a better thing You don't know me at all At least now I have showed you What your smiles mean to me And even if you never know I'd love you gracefully A bird never flies so high that it can't hit the ground |
