Here I was on the sofa, sitting in somewhat dimmed light
I was looking around, but what I saw wasn't very bright
The music they were playing sounded quite romantically
And I could see a pair of eyes, gazing at me you see

He looked at me with such a glance, felt something weird for sure
If he thought I'm an easy catch, then he's in for some tour
The candlelight shone in my eyes..I smiled invitingly
I knew by then he took the bait and would come out to me

And yes he did, got out his chair and came right by my side
The coffee table on his path he shoved it just aside
So there he was, looking at me and reached out for my hand
I thought why not and gave him the look 'I really understand'

He pulled me up, his eyes on mine, the smile still on his face
He just stood there like a teen and all he could do was gaze
For him the world had vanished, just disappearing from view
While taking my hand to his lips he mumbled "I love you"

Then he was bending his head down to my lips and kissed me
I thought why not and surrounded his neck quite willingly
The kiss was firm and grew stronger, his body pressing mine
I let him think, that this could last untill the end of time

Then the music stopped suddenly and someone hit the light
His smile just froze when I stood up wishing him a 'Good Night'
I smiled at this man's blushing face and told him very kind
Kissing ladies of eighty one......will keep them young in mind

Titia, lol at this one, you know you wouldn't know that you are that old from reading your work. Must be all that laughter keeping you young.

Nope, I'm turning 58 in december, that's still young isn't it????

Mmmm have to change that last line I suppose

Titia, you are so clever, and Balladeer will appreciate your wit and talents...no matter what age either of you get to be!

Well Titia, you took the "Deer" on and gave him a run for his money!  Look out for lots of those knuffles, as I bet they are coming your way, and then we will see a 58 year young gal blushing like crazy.  Great job girl.  You just wait until you meet Michael and hear him read or recite rather (he knows them all by heart yet!)

Good for you!

The light was dim, I must admit, as I sat in the room.
I saw her figure sitting there across me in the gloom.
I couldn't see her face because the light was turned down low
But just the way she sat there made emotions overflow.

Her posture was quite regal, prim and proper sitting there.
Her clothing fit her perfectly and she had long brown hair.
I walked across the room and sat beside her in the dark
And, when she answered my hello, her voice was meadowlark.

I asked her what she did in life - she said a "knuffel Queen".
Since I had no idea, I said,"Just what do you mean?"
Well, she showed me a knuffel and another one or two
And I was paying homage by the time that she was through!

Then someone turned the lights up bright, as bright as any sun
And she said, "Now you see your Knuffel Queen is 81!"
I put her arm in mine, and smiling, walked her out of there
And said, "My dear, with knuffels that delicious....I don't care!!!"
