The Shores of Alone

In the pitch dark and lonely bar
the women come from near and far
searching for love in such wrong place
hoping to find a loving face.

The shutters drawn around their eyes
so very hard to hide the lies
of vagrant dreams no longer real
still they believe that love can heal.

In darkest bar where hope still seeks
no matter facts of life so bleak
Eternal possibllities
the only thing that they can see.

Perhaps one day their truth will show
with hoped for love they'll someday know.

This couldn't be more true.  Love can heal, but sometimes the search for it can be devastating to say the least.  Very nice write ... now get off the bar stool and go searching at the book store.

(kiss on cheek) my thoughts are with you, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sandra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Isn't that like looking for love in the wrong place? Excellent write.

The shutters have a way of concealing the light. I'm constantly adjusting mine,  but I'm not about to close them up completely.  I really like how you write Sandra~

Sandra
What a realistic picture you've described.  So true and I like your kind poet's heart at the end!

Is this Arizona Charlies where 'Asleep At The Wheel' play sometimes......smile!...

This is actually a real place, in San Diego, but it was frequented more by old winos than women. Still, it had that smoky old dusty bar thing going, very atmospheric. I haven't been there for 7 ears though. LOL
