into the darkness you run away from lifeless faces painted gray they can't see you not today you look through a two-way wall you stop in your tracks when they see your tears another life lost from hidden fears no second chances too many years nobody knows who you are dying to love living to please surrounded by flame you can't help but freeze you look for a smile but no one agrees you live in the shadows now painted faces fall apart one short moment of open hearts when you turn around it's not so dark maybe the gray will fade |

This describes a time in my life I would not want to relive....I'm still a bit gray around the edges sometimes. Excellent poem! Are you related to 5? |
