My Old Cape Cod

I feel a bit nostalgic for my old Cape Cod
I left with mystic visions of the steps I trod
One more traveler waking to a hazy sky
One more soul annointed by a light house eye

One more foot has tread the path to Provincetown
One more shoe has weathered paths on Yarmouth sound
One more ear etched memories of the quietness
One more heart was captured by the harbor mist

I feel a bit of yearning for an island’s end
And for a dear companion and a loving friend
One more time I had to say a sweet good bye
Leaving under vigil of a light house eye

Thank you so much, dear Liz... Every time I look at this lovely picture of you, I'll be reminded that it was taken here - right beside Nobska Lighthouse... and that we were here together... Thanks for the lovely words, my sweet friend...

Even those of us far away from the fun hated to see it end. *S* This is beautiful!

The second stanza is most haunting, and flavored well with the scent of the sea...well done, Lady Santos...

It may have been one more foot, one more ear and one more heart....but they were special. They were yours. If Cape Cod could talk, I think it would want you back, too, Liz
