We are beyond Eden
Just south
of rising cotton ghosts
Red hot sun
Lime green moon
reflecting upside down
on mirror seas, coasting
longest waves rustling inward
hypnotic
like slow horses
grazing towards the shore

Daze, sunbathing, tasting cinnamon
Cooled off deep, chocolate mint
as pillow gifts,
giving off soft julep dreams
and night hands
that make me sigh
in moist plumes of humid jitters

You give me flowers that speak
that kiss places hard to reach
like feathers
they make me feel touched

You find me everywhere I hide
I can’t help but tell you
where I’ve been
and how much I miss you
even if the wind
changes direction

You hush me solid
and make me stare at blue ice
What a pretty fire
you make
inside me
with those eyes

I can’t believe
how much you love to listen
to things that rub together
in my mind, in my secret place
I show you everything
that comes up in the sift
You see it all as gold

Sometimes I rain new eyes
when you look at me that way
I want to freeze frame your gaze
beneath our cool lime moon

and write across rocks
how we got there clues
just in case we drift
away
from love

Regina~  Your poetry touches like a soft caress, warm and true enhancing the flavors of love and how it coats and melts from the inside out...it's a sweet drizzle you write.

Lovely work poetess, as always~

Well if that isn't love sublime I don't know what is and he cooks dinner too!  Regina ditto Balladeer, your expression is your trademark of great poetry.

this.......this exact thing is what I have craved all my life...instead...the one I am with knows not a thing in my head...though he tries to penetrate, I refuse, for he only wants to see what's in there so he can change it to be what he thinks I should.....I am saving this on disk...and printing...I will read before sleep so that I might dream sweet dreams of love and being 'connected' to that certain one....great work

You always astonish me the honesty of your heart to word--I read every thing you write...and sometimes don't reply as I fear I will bore you with my adulation!

But yes, regina, there is an admirer in New Orleans...
