THIS IS A PICTURE OF ME AND MY FRIEND KATRINA
(THE BABY IN THE PRAM) TAKEN WAY BACK IN THE
SIXTIES.TO THIS DAY WE HAVE REMAINED FRIENDS
AND KNOW EACH OTHER SO WELL.EVEN THOUGH WE
DON'T SEE EACH OTHER OFTEN THE BONDS OF
FRIENDSHIP REMAIN FIRMLY TIED.

* * * * *

From over the fence you looked at me
It was in the Summer of '73
A ladder on the fence
Joined your place and mine
Over yonder past the clothes line

I have a picture I keep of me and you
I'm about four and you're not even two
Neither of us could possibly have known
That the seeds of friendship had been sown

So many lazy Summer days
We spent swimming in my pool
We'd do almost anything
Just to keep ourselves cool

Then we'd scale across the fence
First to your place then mine
Or we'd lie out on the grass
And soak up the warm sunshine

As our lives took many turns
Some for better and some for worse
Any needs we both had
Would always come first

Life was to be so unfair
So much heartache you'd go through
At times I felt so helpless
Not quite knowing what to do

The sudden loss of your father
At such a very young age
Still too young was I
To help you through this stage

But we grew through the hard times
And we learnt to have fun
Then a tragedy happened
The death of your son

Though wiser in years
Still so helpless did I feel
This must surely be a dream
This just couldn't be real

But it was to be true
And I tried to be there
To hold on to your hand
In your time of despair

Now here we are years later
And we remain side by side
Our friendship ever stronger
Our lives moving with the tide

It isn't often that I see you
Not as much as I'd really like
But we know each other well
It's sort of like riding a bike

For together we've faced many hurdles
But we've always made it through
How very fortunate am I
To share this friendship with you

THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN IN NOVEMBER 2001 OF KATRINA AND I AT MY HUSBAND'S 40TH BIRTHDAY.  THAT'S ME WITH THE WINE GLASS IN HAND AND AS YOU CAN SEE WE STILL REMAIN THE BEST OF FRIENDS.

(tears fall down my cheeks) God Bless You, sweet friend, you are such a true angel of a friend to so many and my heart cries out to her losses, yet I know with all my heart she will always be blessed to have such a beautiful friend like you as we all are and my heart goes out to hers always and I hopeshe too knows she isa wonderful person and her father and son will always guide her with their love! (wipes tears) This one both made me cry in heartbreak but especially in joy knowing you will always be together, sweet friend, you deserve some extra big hugs for this one! (EXTRA BIG HUGGGSSSSSS) YAY!!! We all love you so much, sweet friend, never change who you are, for you are a true angel and one of the most loving, compassionate people I've ever known! This is a friendship
that is tied by bonds
stronger than blood...

Enjoyed this very much,
Sue!

True friends are always there
Maybe not always physically
But certainly within the heart
the mind, the soul...

Such is this bond between two young women
who have endured much over the years..

Very beautiful Sue...

Sue, You are the best friend a person could have.  I'm sure Katrina would agree with me.  You have such a good heart.  She must be an equal too.  I've always thought that in a good friendship, the two are often much alike.  Give this poem to her if you haven't already.  She will love it as I did.  Your friend always, Roger.....Thank You So Much

I am sure you will touch her heart with this as you ahve done mine.  There is absolutely nothing that can replace a good friend and family.  I loved your tribute to her Sue.
