Standing within four walls now bare
left to wonder, to worry and fret
to walk and wait, with no one there
time oozing along, not there yet

Gloom turning walls from white to black
shudders closed against stark of day
wait in anguish, watching my back
soap suds futile, won’t wash away

Silence engulfs the room and halls
bringing a ring and hiss to ears
crossing the floor and climbing walls
smothering gladness, birthing fears

Laughter once heard, now remembered
of times when smiles covered the faces
and eyes shone bright, sparkled, glimmered
Sadness was gone without traces

A house can hold the happiness
of a family without strife
of tenderness and sweet caress
between two souls, husband and wife.

Magnus darling boy again your writing is outstandingly beautiful in its form it’s utterly utterly breathtaking in its beauty. Your heart positively sings in this, I love it utterly utterly. Sometimes I swear you write with starlight, this is one of those times

Perfect darling heart utterly utterly perfect. And yes I love it utterly

Love and warm stuff

You reach my heart and make the sadness of this piece echo thru my mind.

Mr. M:  A home is where you hang your hat, but if there is no love there - then it really isn't a home.

Loved your words:  "A house can hold the happiness of a family without strife
of tenderness and sweet caress
between two souls, husband and wife"

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Barry, you sound so sad behind these words, I hope everything is okay, for I know families can always quarrel and have their hard times, but I know it takes time to settle the differences and love will only grow! (sigh) This is sad but wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Indeed, a home IS
what is made of it,
and a house
is just four walls.

Magnus - if only the walls could talk - right? How well I do understand that a house is not a home when he...or she is no longer there. Well done sir. Chris

*sigh* so good to read your wonderful words again....It takes the love of two to make a house of smiles.....I hope one day to create a home that will be void of tears...Magnificent writing, Barry....I love it...**big hugs**

Hello Barry

Your words always move me and stir up many emotions.  You make the reader feel like they are going through the pain with you.

Take care....Sue
