Chased dirt down
with Gatorade
most of my life
with a smile

Ran..so fast
and hard,
even in my sleep
I knocked the breath
out of a ball

Who..would believe
I could ever
slow down
long enough
to make
something pretty
come from dirt
and a little hope

Seems God knew
I needed to raise
a lot of Cain,
but he made me
see how high
the sunflowers grew,
how delicate
wild violets were,
how much
a briar patch
and I had in common
when in bloom

It started out
with just a weed
like me
in a rusted coffee can

I carried that vine
all the way
from Ft.DeadInTheMiddleOfNowhere
and we took root on higher ground
like some lost and found seedlings
strapped on a homecoming Caddi
in a Five and Dime parade

Now look at me
so heavy with love
I can barely hold my head up

I just feel like bustin’ out all over

Let me drip a while,
feel the sun rain down my neck
Let me rest my weary shoulders
while I dig my toes in

Those bees..are my buddies
and don’t sting anythang like
some men do
and some women too

Gettin’ dirty never felt so good

Yep!..God and I did this. Except now there are 5 gardens..More flowers than I can remember the names of..I don't do anything but throw a bit of fertilizer on them and pray for rain.

Ms. Mysteria Inspired this little ditty as she does so much for so many. Thanks for you!

I love it! Isn't it fun to get dirt under your nails and all over you face? I love the smell of rich fertile soil, especially after a light rain. And once those sweet flowers blossom, you  know every speck of dirt was worth it! Nicely done!

pretty stuff reg,
if I bring you roses
don't look out back to see
where they got picked from?

if I was an aphid would come to your house

Oh how I can relate to this! Don't you just LOVE planting things and watching them take off toward the sun?

Such beautiful results ... both the flowers and the poem

Reg,
She has done so much for me. I have seen many flowers just because of her! And as for you...weed bed, flower bed, just count me in your garden some where. Please.
