Beneath the frayed clouds
I laughed today
They glided by
in gray scale pouts
quivering
and threatening
to cry
any moment

I thought of you
Your voice
and how it trickled
down my spine
like the slow rain
that began to fleck
against the windowpane

those drops...
I felt them
connect

Stirred up and rambling
into a sinful parade
of broad daydream scenes
passing by me
in leisure motorcade fashion
I am lilting
on a street corner
at lunchtime
scolding the grin
inside
for thinking such bad girl thoughts
between the drops

I took off my high heels
and ran
before it poured
some more of you
and me

there weren't any umbrellas
for sixty miles

Ooohhhhhh...I love the surreal sensuality you fill in these words, sweet friend, you always write such fabulous visions unlike any other that always fall like raindrops upon all these pages with inspiration! VERY cool - i have become a big fan here, telling the truth!
quote:

see? that's how you do it, i'm telling-ya!

thought - do you have a specific reason for using hardly any punctuation? i look for that when i'm reading as a control for where you want me to pause, etc.

Regina...this is an absolutely amazing piece of rain...

Stirred up and rambling
into a sinful parade
of broad daydream scenes
passing by me
in leisure motorcade fashion

I really have to thank Mr.Squirrel for calling my attention to this one.

I posted one about rain tonight also (it must be the weather) and he mentioned that there were 2 poems about rain posted in one night so I went to look for the other one and found this gem of yours...and I must admit....I am really jealous because yours is so much better than mine

Balladeer: Ulimate compliment..to have you there always..thank you so much!!

Noah: You are such a smile blessing to me..love and hugs to you!

Serenity: Not worthy! I can only hope to be so inspired as to connect and continue to write..to convey. Thanks so much poetess.

Nancy: You! You write so lovely..always lovely and always with class..I really appreciate you.

Blues: Your acceptance is art and friendship I am so grateful for. Thank you.

bsquirrel: Other than sea sides, sun valleys, and sensual chocolate..I adore the rain! Thank you poet!

Christopher: No one has ever asked! If you read me real slow..and imagine a thick southern accent..sort of like "sensual molasses"..the punctuation gets in the way. So I decided to cap all the beginnings and jiggle a little freely with my verse..because I write like I talk..only I do pronounce my words purrfectly and I am blessed that you asked. I hope my sparse punk u ation isn't a hindrance to you. Thank you poet.

Lyra: Never better..we are omni-gatherum of art and conveyance..we are poetic and I must find yours now! Hugs poetess!

Dark: Yes..I love the puddles..gotta love the puddles..I love the way you make rain. Thanks so much!

Sunshine: I always enjoy you..You are just one fan dang tastic lady..Appreciate every word you leave me.

Janet: Bring on the rain!..for sure! You are so great!! So glad you enjoyed this..Thanks a heap of slow rainy Sundays~grin.

Sincerely,
Reg
