So many of us are easily brainwashed
Some are drawn towards fortune and fame
Magazines portray the 'perfect figure'
So many are selfish and vain

We're told if you have a beautiful body
You can get almost anywhere in life
There's no excuse for not being 'perfect'
One can always go under the knife

This world seems so consumed by vanity
Beyond the mirror they just cannot see
None of us are more special than the other
We're all of the same fabric you see

In a world miles away from the glamour
Far away from the silver and gold
There are so many needy people
Who spend their lives out in the cold

No bright lights shine upon them
They have no basic comforts or home
They spend every night without love
Feeling so afraid and so very alone

Some people live only for money
Consumed by self satisfaction and greed
Without even a thought for those others
Who crave just the simplest of needs

But those with the most valuable possession
Are those who are caring and kind
Their thoughtfulness knows no boundaries
They are like a jewel that is hard to find

Each and every one of us is beautiful
In their own individual way
A good heart is certainly priceless
Like a beautiful sunset at the end of the day

Listening to every heart

Got that right...you know how to prioritize...what's important, and what's not.  Keep passing those messages along...

(big huggggssssss) Oh Sue, I couldn't agree with you more, sweet friend, it too saddens me to see so many get the wrong impression that physical beauty will win them everything and only to find out its the heart that matters ore and that many are so unhappy truly! (kiss on cheek) This is a wonderful poem with a powerful message, sweet friend, may we always listen to our hearts dearly, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Sue:  This says so much Sue.  We can't even imagine what it must like for people who live in utter poverty!

Dear Sue, this was a great write with much feeling. I hope that more take heed to the caring and sharing of others, this world would then become a much better place.

Enjoyed:

Sincerely Rick

So true, if people could only look past the outer layer the world would be a better place, there would be no self hatred. Brilliant write it made me think.
God Bless you, Clare

I hate the old thought that beauty is skin
and ugly is to the bone....

Too many people never see the true beauty of
a person...because they stop at the shell
on the outside...never seeing the kindness
of the heart, the sensitivity,  the desire
to be loved and cared for...

I remember those very terrible moments when
I thought I had no beauty...

Thank You Sue...you are a beautiful young
woman, inside and out!!!

Sue,
Leave it to your tender heart to write a gentle reminder. Words of thoughtfulness that are so full of meaning add such value to these blue pages! Thank you.

Sue, I thought that was a very beautiful and wise writing by you.  If all would just lean on love, the world would be like heaven.  Wonderful and rewarding read for me.  Your friend always, Roger

Melissa

Thank you for your kind words

Roger

I'm so glad you liked what you read.  I guess my aim was to make people stop and think about where their priorities lay.

Take care......Sue
