When you stop to think about it,
don't.
I mean,
don't stop too long,
and don't think about it too much.
Just do it.
Just say it.
Just share your heart,
NOW.
Time is of the essence
is a phrase I learned long ago.
Only I never really understood it,
until I ran out of time,
and before I could say it,
I was gone.
When you stop to think about it,
don't.
This is just a thought that came to me as I was remembering a friend who left this realm long ago. I believe my friend was telling me that NOW is the right time.

You know I was just thinking the same thing, and sent out something to my friends on the same idea.  If you don't seize the moment, or the day, and "go for it", you may loose it, and the opportunity will never come again.  Carpe' Diem dear friend, and today is good time to say I care

You know you are absolutely right!!!! Most times we all wait way too long to express that which we repress. In our adolescence, we learn to hide our feelings rather than being labelled as an overdiscloser.  I would gamble that a large portion of our poets started in highschoo writing down their feelings intent on passing the hardcopy along to the intended subject... I know I was too shy to be that bold.

Lesson learned late is still no less a lesson. LOL

I Loved this poem.... and I am adding it to my growing collection.

Sherry

Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow.
But above all... be kind to yourself today.

Sharon, you are my poetic carpe diem inspiration, for you always gently remind me that I must seize the day. And I thank you for that.

Sherry, thanks! What you just said about school is so true, and parallels a thought I put into another poem that I'll be posting soon. thank you for your reply.

ecrivan, yes, let's seize each moment, and make it ours forever.

Kacy, only where the sun stays lit
for 6 months at a time could such warm
luminance cast heart's glow on beautiful sentiment like this.

There is only ONE tomorrow
and only ONE today, for then they shall become the past
and become the Never-be's.

Thanx Sharon for bringing this back around
with a gentle bump.

This is a very wise poem,  could be taken
in different directions...but the main
theme is just so simple and true....

Don't put off today till tomorrow what
should have been done yesterday...

Like love of another, of friend, family, of
visiting someone you have not seen in a
while...so many thoughts...

Thank You Kacy...

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Kacy, I too am greatly inspired by Dead poets Society and the idea of "Carpe Diem" and "Carpe Noche"! We must embrace each moment in order to find solace and stillness of heart, for I wasted time crying as a child when I was abused and I always turned to the past which hurt me deeply! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, this is a powerful view of wisdom, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Sharon,

Magnus, Yes, it could be interpreted in many ways. Never put off 'till tomorrow...except for paying taxes, I'd always put that off to the very last possible second. LOL.

Nancy, thanks. You are always so kind.

Noah, thanks sweet friend. Each day gives us a new opportunity. (Hey, let's meet and go get some ice cream in July.)

Well done. I agree totally, there is only right now....this moment...the past is gone..and who can say about the future?!! Chris
