when the rain finally stops coming down,
don't bring the sun out right away,
let me be wet for awhile
let the rain drip from the trees into puddles
on the sidewalk for me to jump into
              and get my feet wet

let the clouds stay for just a while longer,
not dark and forboding,
but in lighter gray
that feels better than it looks,
a blanket for my heart to cover itself in

I'm watching the rain bead on the grass,
flowing down the street and
       into the ground,
while an ant begins to set sail on a leaf
       for places of eternity

The rain has washed off the dust from my heart. I think I'll join that ant and see where it takes us. How I've missed reading the PIP.

This is fantastic Sven~
Loved the sense of calm and the goodness that is left in the aftermath.
