A bird who could not sing, I did ask "Why?".
when all about the sky was purest blue.
He turned and looked me squarely in the eye,
then dumped a big ol' pile on my shoe!

"What gives," I said "that you'd treat me this way,
for I have surely never done you wrong?"
" I only asked why is it on this day,
that you do not regale us with song."

Once more he looked me squarely in the eye,
appeared was consternation knit his brow,
then on my other shoe he did let fly.
"That's it pal" I exclaimed "you're done for now!"

When all at once he broke out in to song.
To hear those few brief notes, I almost paused.
What happened next may well be viewed as wrong,
but I am not the one who wrote the laws.

For though I know three wrongs don't make a right,
He couldn't sing worth two s***s, by any sight.

Doc,
ROTFLMBO Too dang funny! My dad taught me this:
Birdie, birdie in the sky,
Dropped some white wash in my eye.
I'm a big boy I didn't cry,
But I'm sure glad that cows don't fly!

Fun write Doc. And good to see you.

It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo!

Larry C.
Thank you. Yep, I'd heard that one too, could've been the inspiration for this.
I like your sign-off.
