Balladeerwho…(not a yodel)
By Larry Chadwick

Did anyone else notice,
How Balladeer aged…overnight?
It seemed rather odd,
He must have had a fright!

The photographic evidence,
Was there for all to see.
One day he looked quite young,
And then he looked old to me.

Under normal circumstances,
I wouldn’t say a thing.
But he looks so much better,
Now like some curmudgeonling.

Impossible you want to say,
Oh lighten up I reply.
It isn’t even a word,
But he’s changed you can’t deny.

So once again like wine,
If you don’t have too much.
Balladeer has aged quite well,
But I’ll bet he needs a crutch.

Larry darling boy this is utterly utterly wonderful. But oh my you’d better duck and say it came out wrong. Actually you’re right he looks smiles better, I love the new piccy, it makes him look much more human. That’s not age you know its character.

Absolutely fabulous writing darling boy I love it.

I love the latest picture
Of our charming Balladeer!!!
And you say he needs a crutch??
Yip-peeeeeee!!! I'll volunteer!
Perhaps some of his talent
Will ooze out in his sweat...
For the chance to write such verse -
What better job could I get?
But even if that flawless rhyme
Isn't something he can share,
It would be my pleasure
To help him, cause I care.
Fair weather friends are many -
Trouble shows up and they're gone...
But Deer, I've got a shoulder
You're welcome to lean on!
Now granted, I'm no young chick
We might wobble and fall -
But I make a good cushion....
You might not mind at all. *EG*

Fer shame, fer shame, Larry.... you can't just steal Long John's peg leg that way! LOL I enjoyed this very much. *S*

Mushy,
That's why he improved with age...he has so much character! Thanks dear. Not you 'deer.

suthern,
You know some people are sneaky about what they want. You just put it right out there! Awesome. But I'm guessin' he's still in great shape. Now we just have to see what condition his condition is in... Thanks for the fun response.

'Deer,
I'd say I'm overcome with grief,
And wanna take it back!
But then on top of being fun,
My plan would be off track.

And further more SIR Balladeer,
We only hurt the ones we love.
You do know that I'm drugged,
And fighting with one glove.

But that's okay I'll take the shot,
More fun I can't recall.
Oh yeah, that's right, I'm drugged,
I'm the luckiest of us all.

So when the dust has settled,
And the joust is finally done.
I'll say I was convalescing,
When Balladeer had his fun.

It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo!

Oh boy!  Never did I think I would be sticking up for the Balladeer, but here I go...actually he is not at all old looking Larry, maybe you need to check out getting glasses and, he can hustle up a hill pretty darn good too.  I think his new picture is way better than the last one as he does have a wonderfully catchy smile.  Oh and by the way...do you know of any old timers that can recite LONG poems by heart from memory?  YUP, he can!  Look out, he's gonna get ya!

Duncan,
I think sharing is illegal! I have enough to get me throught tomorrow unless the doc give me a refill... Thanks for the fun.

Sharon,
I think he has the most handsome face on our sight as men go. However, he is also the best poet among men here. But you can't be coddlein' the older folks. They're tough folk. They're used to life being a little hard. And they're anxious to teach young bucks like me a thing a two. So what a perfect service to offer the 'Deer at no charge. He is smilin' by now right?

It is an opportunity for instruction one generation to another and we all know the score is set to come out in his favor. That is the beauty of it all.

So since I understand the ground rules so well I really wanna play...please can I play.

NO NOT SNOWBALLS!

There was a young poet, not so very long ago
took to challenging the Balladeer, don't you know...
Now that young fellow, he's not quite been the same,
for you don't challenge the 'Deer at his very own game!

Larry C,
Thanks for your recent replys. I will admit I got a chuckle out of this ( it's always good to see someone attempt to rattle old "Deers'" cage.) Beware though, the repercussions of toying with "Big Game" often have undesirable side effects.
