"To Go Beyond" midi file

Future Tense

Living in a daydream world,
My eyes are in another time,
Watching all the mindless games,
These creatures seem to find.

I am gasping for breath!!!
They choke me with their firesicks.
How do they place them in their mouth,
Without burning themselves?
.... they breathe as dragons.

Truly, I say the sorceress would enjoy,
All the spells they can cast.
Her magic globe is no match for the box.
Even I can see visions on its surface.

At night, They do not light candles,
Globes and patches of ceiling glow brilliantly,
With a fire cool to my curious touch.
Even the stars are out done as night is made day.

And these are yet as children, discontented.
They fly... not fast enough; they feed too few.
Their most curious eyes are always on the sky.
Answers they do not get from the box,
Must come still from Heaven.

And as I cross the threshold back
I hear my own time calling,
You float freer than these ever will,
As they are hopelessly falling.

MagicMystery,
how true, we take for granted the magics we have and behave like spoiled children. Excellent poem.

Ladies, thank you for your comments.  I wrote this one a while ago while I was in college.  It seemed to me that there were more people in the cafeteria playing cards than there were in classes sometimes. I was just thinking to myself, what if a traveller from another time were to happen on the daily events here?

(smiles) Oh Sherry, this is soooooo powerfully bittersweet, sweet friend, I too know this feeling so very well, and my heart goes out to all the children of the world who anxiously await the future and i wish them all to find their wings and fly and chase their dreams! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is wonderful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sherry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Incredible write here Sherry!
Quite the idea for a different kind of write.
Leaves one wanting to reread and ponder....
as I will.
Very enjoyable!
Love the pic and choice of music as well.

I liked those lines especially.
It is a curious world indeed!!
