Silence Is Hard To Bear

Why am I feeling this way
So depressed and sad
You never said goodbye
Or closed what we had

I suppose its the silence
Of nothing being spoken
That leaves me in tears
So sad and heartbroken

Heart sorrow lamenting
As my emotions outpour
Gentle words that touch
In needing nothing more

Your barrier came down
With a long silent pause
In preventing me access
Still I know not the cause

Lonliness and confusion
With feelings of despair
Maybe you never realise
Silence is so hard to bear

In my impassioned plea
Every loving word I send
Convince me its not over
For I cannot write the end

I know that people say that silence says a lot, but it also says very little...I allow my feelings to start changing accordingly when I get silence...James

sometimes silence speaks louder than words.........and can be twice as painful.  You've written my thoughts about a relationship in my life with this piece.  Well done.

To quote Jackson Browne~
(my theme song somedays)

"I'm just one or two years and couple of changes behind you, in my lessons of love's pain and the heart ache school"

Silence might be golden but I'm not buying it.

Enjoyed your poem Hope~
