I sit here in the bunkhouse-
And really kind of mope...
About a lass I longed to meet,
But know there is no hope.

I'm here in Arizona,
Up near Payson way-
She's in Milton, Florida-
Two thousand miles away.

She only wants a true love-
And love is all I own,
The places where I hang my hat,
Are what I call my home.

I listen to the timber wolves,
She hears the surf I guess.
But both of us are smothered-
By our awful loneliness.

I may get out my six string,
And sing the Lonesome Blues-
That's more in keeping with my mood,
Than singing "Blue Suede Shoes".

Daylight isn't far away-
Perhaps I'd better dream...
The only way I'll see the face,
Of my beloved Queen.

Cowboys are all dreamers,
At least I've heard that said,
And I'll quit dreaming of her,
The day they find me dead.

So as you rest your lovely head,
Be sure this much is true...
There is a cowboy somewhere,
Who is in love with you.

Yes I know this well. I am in Florida and Liam is in British Columbia, Canada. I really liked this.

Too true. The difference is that one day I'll travel.

What is life without poetry and adventure?
"Little sister" is just another way of saying "Guardian Angel"!
