Snow
as barren as trainwhistles
beyond the horizon
trees claw up
like hands spilling earth
cold
  quiet
    expectant
with spring's infant squeal
focus
toward escaping breath
stiff stretchings of woody spindles
watch it flutterdie
among the listless molecules
reach roundless
toward the ether
focus
in the flaring ash
catching vapors in their branches--
the moon a wisp of smoke.

Watch it
--stuttersigh--
with thoughtful "loving yous"
snatch it--caterwalling
from "missing yous"--singing hues
(blinding clues)
colors blind the dead and grey
rapids and whiteforked foam
see my rocky soul...in the loam.

Lovers bind the trees in flay
ribboned like the pole of May
the witch is bound but longs to dance--
ghostly fingers pry the chance.

Whispers beg for name of beast
round the silkened legs in prance.

Rumors plea the boon of priest
whittled crow in bend of pine
as the flute flies on the breeze
twining rows of brittle wheat
flatten'd glad beneath the feet
as the spittle softens sheath
of priestess fair, and mourner meek.

the dance....
   a stone...
     a-story-tone...

Atone?
the bones of those in stones
the way the muscles move the bone
(read shadow of the light on skin)
as the sun does rise again..
story, shed, in sweat's begin--
attending shed of sweaty sin
puddling
on silent lips...

The stones
  the tones
of listener's beat.

Bang the hearts--the soles of feet--
rippling shades of darkness bound
(ecstacy the only sound)
music to my eyes

Praise
say yea
of comforting--
take you--
placing
of the crown...
curtsey
in a beer belch frown--
silver balls

beat shades of blue.

keep em coming.

Where the touch of lovers end and the soul of friends begin,
there's a need to be separate and a need to be one ...
it's struggle neither wins.

Bumping you too witchy woman!
Do tell, did the four of you
write verses and then make them
your own in a poem.

Each thought is fascinating
and could stand on it's own.

It's all in the 'craft' I suppose!

A poem quartet! Cool.
(A first?)

This was SO much fun---thanks for reading, and I recommend a collaberation such as this to everyone. Writing with another challenges you to go places you wouldn't normally go--y'kinda have to give up control, which makes it interesting, ESPECIALLY with this group of guys.

I want to thank you all for reading, but special heart-hugs for wranx, mikie, and brian.

I'm a lucky lady to keep such fine company!
