clouds weep
of love's lament,
recycled tears
rain on empty branches,
wooden statues bathed in rain,
standing stoic,
is anyone listening?
brittle bones
cast in ice,
this too cold winter,
shivering beneath,
will they carry life again?
strings of heart
serenade this longing soul,
waiting anxiously,
one more moon
full in face,
to come and go,
count the days,
the kiss of spring
returning leaf by leaf,
paint by number,
fill the empty page,
fill me up,
with you
again

After reading this poem, the object of your affection will most likely "fill" you up again...and again...

Warm hugs,

Vividly expressed the ache of missing...what wonder lies within the heart. Well done. ThisDiamond

A longing worth the wait,
   a thought hoping to hold.

       Excellent work, sunshine!

I do like how you did tie the seasons of the heart--in with the natural seasons.  Hope is there that come spring, the ice will melt and new discoveries will be made--and in the same way... ice-laden trees have their own beauty--tho be it, sharp and untouchable.

Thanks for the read,

Awsome poem. Really liked it.
