It Dwells

There’s nothing that can hide so well
Without odor, without a smell
And dwells within a mind of gray
And keeps reality at stay.

It slinks within an omni dark
And rouses us in silent bark
That plays upon a nights refrain
And loosens dogs in symbols reign.

It oozes through the bars of sleep
And causes us to sigh and weep
It hangs an embers burning glow
Around the neck of what was so.

And thought we turn and twist in fret
It makes its way in sleep to let
And causes rage within a seem
And often makes us cry in dream.

It makes you look your house of glass
And wish you had an overpass.

That one verse alone is cooler than I have words for...the symbolism...the imagery...the word play ... the cadence ... and the oh so clever intend of the inspire....

and the closing couplet takes the cool even higher!!!

You rock and it rolls me

A very very fine piece...save one thing, and it's likely me...I don't understand the second to last line.
